Artist's Comments

I feel I neet to Comment a lot in this picture. This is Seiryuu, one of the four Guardians of Kyoto, Seiryuu is the Protector of East Kyoto. He is worshiped at The Kiumizu temple in Kyoto.

This is actually one of the first legends I knew about Japan and this is also one of the reasons why my favourite city is Kyoto and I wanted to go so desperatly to Kyoto.

Kyoto is the City with the most beautiful and large amount of Temples and Legends and ,... well it's " The" City you should visit at least 2000 times in your life.

oh I've been a little busy but I'm planning to explore the rest of Kyoto before I come back.
The Four Guardians are Seiryuu the dragon ( East),
Whose temple is Kyomizu dera ( I'm Going back for new Year's countdown).
Then we have the tiger Known as Byakko west the red bird ( who looks like a Phoenix) is named Suzaku, and last the North Guardian, Genbu the turtle. Each of these animals is highly respected In Japan.
I think that the temple for Byakko is close to Heian Jingu, but I'm not sure.

I just don't remember the temples now.

I'll have to go back and see.
